This is my all time favorite picture of President Hinckley. I have it on my computer desk and it has brightened many a day for me. I just feel like I have to blog about this. His death to me was expected but so unexpected. I suppose I thought he would just go on forever as the prophet of our church but heaven was waiting for him. I can only imagine how happy he was to see Sister Hinckley and those who have gone before him. I'm sure the reception area in Heaven was over flowing to greet him. I have never known my grandfathers and really didn't know my grandmothers but a few memories of when I was very little. I always felt like he was my very wise, humble, funny, loving charismatic Grandpa. One of the things that I truly loved about President Hinckley was has quick wit. He always had something funny to say that just put people at ease. In watching him over the past many years I have come to realize that our Heavenly Father truly must also have a very witty personality. I guess we are created in his image all the way down to a sense of humor. I have a testimony of this and I know that our Father will provide us with a new prophet and I am so grateful that we have living prophets on the earth in this day to guide us and lead us home to our Heavenly Father.
You will be missed President Gordon B. Hinckley!
