19 Things We should Say to Our Children

{19 Things we should say to our Children}

1. I love you! There is nothing that will make me stop loving you. Nothing you could do or say or think will ever change that.

2. You are amazing! I look at you with wonder! Not just at what you can do, but who you are. There is no one like you. No one!

3. It’s all right to cry. People cry for all kinds of reasons: when they are hurt, sad, glad, or worried; when they are angry, afraid, or lonely. Big people cry too. I do.

4. You’ve made a mistake. That was wrong. People make mistakes. I do. Is it something we can fix? What can we do? It’s all over. You can start fresh. I know you are sorry. I forgive you.

5. You did the right thing. That was scary or hard. Even though it wasn’t easy, you did it. I am proud of you; you should be too.

6. I’m sorry. Forgive me. I made a mistake.

7. You can change your mind. It’s good to decide, but it is also fine to change.

8. What a great idea! You were really thinking! How did you come up with that? Tell me more. Your mind is clever!

9. That was kind. You did something helpful and thoughtful for that person. That must make you feel good inside. Thank you!

10. I have a surprise for you. It’s not your birthday. It’s for no reason at all. Just a surprise, a little one, but a surprise.

11. I can wait. We have time. You don’t have to hurry this time.

12. What would you like to do? It’s your turn to pick. You have great ideas. It’s important to follow your special interests.

13. Tell me about it. I’d like to hear more. And then what happened? I’ll listen.

14. I’m right here. I won’t leave without saying good-bye. I am watching you. I am listening to you.

15. Please and Thank You. These are important words. If I forget to use them, will you remind me?

16. I missed you. I think about you when we are not together!

17. Just try. A little bit. One taste, one step. You might like it. Let’s see. I’ll help you if you need it. I think you can do it.

18. I’ll help you. I heard you call me, here I am. How can I help you? If we both work together, we can get this done. I know you can do it by yourself, but I’m glad to help since you asked.

19. What do you wish for? Even if it’s not yet time for birthday candles and we don’t have a wishbone, it’s still fun to hear about what you wish for, hope for, and dream about

I know I haven't blogged in a long long while but this had to be posted so that I don't forget!   I love it when people talk sweetly to their children.  Talk sweetly that's what I say, it's all part of a very big investment!

Love you!

I Won't Forget

This has been a long weekend for this little Holyoak Family.
We are sad but know that God has a plan for Us and that he knows the End Before the Beginning.

Words cannot express the Love that I have felt from everyone around me.
I will Not Forget my sweet husbands gentle words to me when I told him and how he just wanted to protect me from it all.
I will Not Forget telling my sweet kids and how they hugged me and said over and over "I'm so sorry Mom - Are you Ok Momma?"
I will Not Forget my little Zander-man crying for at least an hour straight.  "How will I know what my sister looks like?" (it must have been a girl) Why does Our Heavenly Father have to have our baby that isn't even "0" years old?   I need some milk to drink Dad because babies love milk and I can remember her this way." Then he cried into his milk for 10 minutes - the saddest most sincere tears.
I will Not Forget My Sweet Dad when I told him - he was at the doctors office with my Mom who is very sick right now and he was tender and kind and comforting like he always is and then he said something so true to his self,  " I won't tell your Mom quite yet because she's just not well enough to hear this."  He really looks out for her and it's sweet.
I won't Forget My Mom calling us back when she heard the news and what she said to Jared " Everything is just peanuts compared"  what she meant is that this Trigeminal Neuralgia (only the most physically painful thing one can suffer from)  just seemed like peanuts to her when she heard the news.  OHH Mom!  I love you!
I won't Forget my sweet friend Mitzi showing up at my door with the most beautiful bouquet of flowers that I would have picked if I had seen them and the way she just looked at me and cried .  I knew without her saying so that she loves me and she was so sorry.  Mourn with those that Mourn -one of Mitz's gifts for sure.
I won't Forget how just 2 minutes after Mitzi showed up my good friend Patty showed up with treats and everything the bishop had asked us to do for Young Womens already done.
I won't Forget how my sweet Young Women showed up with a card and and Poinsettia for me - oh how I adore those girls .
I won't Forget how at least 12 people asked me if they could bring me dinner or take my kids.
I won't Forget my sweet sister Shelly calling to see if she could pick me up anything at the store and then instead taking me along with her for some hugs and chatting.   Anytime I get with her is extra special.
I won't Forget my sister Em not even being able to talk through her tears when I called her.  She's never had a baby but she understood .
I won't Forget any of my sisters words to me and how they said they were sorry and they loved me and that was enough.
I won't Forget  my sister Wendy calling me and saying she understood what I was going through and that what happened to me was exactly the same thing that happened to her -we both lost a baby.  She didn't try to make her losing a baby that was completely full term seem anymore hard than me loosing my little 9 week old baby.
I won't Forget those 70 plus Facebook messages from friends near and far.
I won't Forget Molly doing what Molly does best and just swooping in taking my kids to her house for the whole day - without ever making me feel like it could be any other way.  It was her idea and she was more than happy to do it.
I won't Forget the staff at the hospital from Nurses to Anesthesiologist who were so respectful and honestly very sincere with their words today.

Mostly I won't forget this sweet baby that is perfect and mine.  Just exactly like my other 4 blessings from my Father In Heaven.
Love to you all.

932 Sandy Glen Lane - Home Sweet Home

Sooo,  I did it - I got brave and just knocked on the door and guess what - that man was soooo kind I didn't even have to ask to come in.  When he realized who I was he said - Oh let me give you a tour - do you need your camera.  Yes PLEASE!!!!!    It really did look super great in there and all my memories came flooding back.  Luckily Jared came in and talked to guy while I walked around again and then he didnt' have to see me tear up as I remembered all the memories this old house of ours has within its walls.  ENJOY! and your welcome!!

 Same house letters !

Same old light fixture in the corner of the living room!  Dad told me that light fixture was from the house on the hill!  That is one old light!  Love that the still has it.

Our kitchen - our kitchen - well I dont' think Mom would have moved had her kitchen looked like this.  Isn't that quite the site - comparatively!
He wanted to knock that wall out all of the way but it had duct work in it so he just went half way.  It really opens the area up.
Yes, Johnnny Boy that is your room you can see right into.  They knocked the wall out and made it an office.   Neat idea!
My room and it still had the green carpet!  LOVE IT!  it still had my shelf on the wall too.
Aim , your room and still complete with Pink curtains and lace curtains - still your style all the way!
 Another view of John's room!
The upstairs bathroom - looks nice!
Mom & Dad's room - it looks so small - I remember it being huge.  I guess their old room could fit into their new room three times.
Ma & Pas bathroom - same mirror - same cabinets - complete with those dumb knobs that always caught your curling iron cord on them.
Their bathroom - Now that shower is sooo much better!!
Our long long hall!  I remember cleaning those closets out sooo many times.  We used to play library in there too.
Downstairs shower - still the same.
Our basement - no more green carpet or duck wallpaper on the walls.  It's all cold and it's wine cellar now apparently.  That bean bag almost looks like a rock.
The food storage room -  good work on all those shelves Dad - they don't hold food anymore however.
 The back stairway!
A view out to the backyard and that lovely deck Dad built.
Laundry room hadn't changed a bit.  I almost expected to come around the corner and see Pretty or No Name our birds sitting there.
OHHH the blanket closet - The owner had no idea what that was suppose to be - I told him straight up that it was a blanket closet of course.   We used to play in there and sleep in there.  Such fun!
 Another kitchen shot.
The orchard - the garden - The Mike Shell swing set!  I told you!  I had to hold back my tears.  I miss this old house.  Well, home is where your heart is and my heart is with my family so I guess this isn't really home but I will always have fond memories of 932 Sandy Glen Lane and all of our wonderful neighbors!
