Line Upon Line

Tonight as we were reading in Alma as a family I read this verse to my children Alma 40:23
"The soul shall be restored to the body, and the body to the soul; yea, and every limb and joint shall be restored to its body; yea, even a hair of the head shall not be lost but all things shall be restored to their proper and perfect frame." Then this is were I asked , Ok kids what does that mean. Paige says: " I know Mom, for example when Uncle Scotty is resurrected he will be able to walk again. " She had the most beautiful light of Christ coming out of her eyes when she said it and you could see that the very thought of what she was saying made her happy. I just thought to myself - children are just called children because their short not because they don't know things. PROFOUND things!

After the kids were all in bed I went for a bike ride and had some time to think about the things I have learned in the past week and I have learned so much and really been just drowned with the spirit. It's been lovely and I would love to share with you some of the thoughts that I wrote down in my Churnel (church journal). Notes for Time Out for Women and from Stake Conference. I got to hear Cherie Call speak and sing and she was amazing -note added songs !

*Truths have a way of anchoring us in troubled days.

*You don't need a cape if you are already a butterfly.

*Joy is not in things it is in Us.

*What if the fruit of motherhood isn't how they turn out but what I've become for having been their mother.
- gaining patience
- incremental progress
- enjoying the little things
- believing all things
- hoping all things
- enduring all things

None of this may make any sense at all to any of you. I apoligize for that but I'm grateful for the things I've learned. I love my family!

Love you tons, Jen

i am glad you wrote down your thoughts. sometimes it is really cool to take a five minute break from studying and read about things that are real and full of life. as interesting as the myology of the human body is. it is just words to discribe a science. but as i read your testimony, i find that i learn, and am reminded, that life is a simply complex and wonderfull science and you are the master of it.

I have a meager journal that I write things down in that I learn. I guess I'm not learning much. Anyways, thanks for sharing what you have learned. Your little Paige is so sweet! I'm not sure I know of a gentler spirit.

Not only did it make sense it was beautiful. Thanks for sharing. And as for that little angel of yours (the one you referred to) we sure love her.

They never cease to amaze me. That Paige is so sweet, and I can just see her saying, "for example...". Thanks for sharing some of the highlights in your churnal. I definitely need to be better at my churnal.

Paige is very sweet (as are all of those Holyoaks). You remind me that I should pick up my journal and write an entry now and again.
