Party Like It's 1999

Grandpa Ray wanted me to hold out so I could have the Mellenium Baby (2000) but, Miss Paige was

already 10 days late (some would argue that).  He thought it was fitting that the

BiCentennial New Years Baby should have the Mellenium Baby.

She was born at about 5:24a.m  on December 21st, 1999 & weighted in

at 6lbs 10oz.  She was petite and sweet like a pea,

funny because that's exactly what we call her "Sweet Pea"!

The Hustle & Bustle

Home with sick kiddos from church today.

Turns out the reason they've been coughing

for 2 months (no joke) they have walking

pnemonia.  Good news is that with 5 days

of meds they will be fine.

Anyhow,  I just walked past my nativity and this is the scene

I saw.

It really hit me like a ton of bricks when I saw my nativity

being crowded by STUFF!  The shepard in the back

had even fallen over and it looked as if the wisemen were facing each other talking instead of looking at the baby Jesus.

I'm not gonna lie,  I cried.  This is a stressful time of year for all and as you can see from the picture -I've been busy sewing myself in to holiday frenzy.  In fact I've been so busy

I haven't stopped once to think about my Savior.

Well,  I quickly cleaned up my Nativity - I even made the wisemen  FOCUS on the correct thing.  (I'm sure they were just talking about me and my messy kitchen).  I've got to scale back on my gift making and just take the time to serve instead.  I'm starting with my little family right here.

I love this time of year , infact I even love the Hustle & Bustle but it's the True meaning of Christmas that makes me Love this time of year the best.   I love my Savior  & am grateful of his Love for me.

   I really just want everyone to be healthy - already!

Oh Christmas morning we all gather together and before even going in where the tree is we sit together and talk about what we are grateful for.  A tradition my parents started when I was little - I'm so grateful for their example.

3. If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be?

Erase my debt Santa dear! 

4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?

Just bringing the true meaning of Christmas into our hearts and home.  Sharing the story of Christ's birth with our children and with those we love. 

5. What games did you play with your family growing up?

Monopoly, Uno, Sorry, Mario bros, Farming Game,  Masterpiece! WE had so much fun !

6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?
The Christmas morning tradition I mentioned above. 


7. Where would you go for a Christmas/Hanukkah-away-from-home trip?

I would love to rent a cabin in the woods with all my family and have Christmas together.  I would be so much fun and so crazy with all those kiddos runnin around.  Christmas is best spent with your family.
