Sister Landrum aka.. Miss Brity

Just this last Saturday I received my last letter from Sister Landrum. She will be arriving home aroung the 13th of next month from her mission to the Phillipines. Words cannot express how excited I am to see her and hear her speak in Tagalog and I'm not even her mother. LOL! I've always been very impressed with this girl. She is the oldest of the Anderson grandchildren and I would say that we couldn't have hand picked a better girl to do the job. Brity has paved the way with her shining example from the time she was little. Wendy has always said that this girl has raised herself. She has never needed much direction to go the right direction she just always used her inner compass and it has served her well. I'm sure it has helped her to follow the path that her wonderful parents have set for her. She definately was blessed with strong parents who have raised 5 beautiful earthly daughters and will have the chance to raise one more in their Heavenly home.

Brity I just want you to know that your Aunt Jenny loves you. I admire you and I know that you will go far in this life. You will influence many people for the good because you are a strong woman with her heart set on things not of this world. As I was just pondering what to write here I was thinking of first children and how amazing it is that as I think of the first children in our family - Aunt Terri, Katie & Becca, Isaac, You, Paige, Chloe, Ethan - I can see that Heavenly Father sends down these amazing children first because he knew that they would pave the way with their examples for the rest of their siblings. It's not to say that they won't stumble and it's not to say that the ones who followed weren't as important (after all I'm the fourth child).

Thank you for devoting 18 months of your life to the Lord and for serving the people of the Phillipines. They have been blessed by knowing you and so have I.

I Love You!

Birthday Boy Dawson!

Does this picture remind you of the movie Steel Magnolias (Mol and I thought so)

My cute nephew Dawson turned 7 years old yesterday. As some of you may know, my sister Molly (his MOM) is pregnant with her 5th and 6th baby. Yep, she's having twins, identical girl babies. We are all very excited for her but alas she has been put on bed rest at nearly 20 weeks. Yikes Mol from marathons to laying on the couch all day. Well it doesn't sound half bad. Anyhow, I was asked to make his birthday cake because she can't and well Tristan doesn't Do Dinosaurs! Dawson wanted a blue dinosaur and so I set off to work. I made the two round cakes and then froze them and then I made some blue and orange marshmellow fondant (the real kind tastes nasty - this kind is actually pretty darn good). I cut the two cakes to the shapes I desired and then rolled and rolled and rolled the fondant out to the perfect size and thickness. Jared and Paigey helped get it on Rudy the Rex and then Paige and I added his features. We thought he turned out pretty darn cute. He was also pretty darn tasty I might add.

Tristan grilled us up some delicious steaks and Jared and I tried some of Tristans favorite swear word steak sauce (it was so good -surprisingly) and we had ourselves a great birthday party. See for yourselves. He loved his presents! He got a watch, didj game and a sling shot handmade by Paigey. We had tons of fun! Love you Mol! Love you Dawson Boy - Happy Birthday you cute smiley faced boy!

Love Aunt Jenny
