Birthday Cake & Other Edible Delights

I think he is edible ! Just some cute pictures of Goo's birthday party tonight. Thanks to all who came - we had fun. The cake is a double layer cookies -n-cream cake (so hard on a girl who isn't eating sugar) with meringue (sp) frosting. Paige made the oragami sail boats for both the big cake and Goo's personal cake. What a talented little lady. We had fun watching him dig in to it. Happy Happy Birthday my boy!

That September Day

I still cry every time I hear Alan Jackson's Song about that day in September. I remember that I was in my bed and I got a phone call from Terri (who was crying) and she said "Jenny, turn on the television." What channel Ter, " Any channel Jen , she said. Then I saw what was happening and I watched as those towers fell, and I cried. I remember that I watched the television every day and just prayed that they would find someone, anyone. I added this video and I hope you will watch it - I loved the part when the Chinese man says - "They gave their lives for me and so now I live my life to remember them." I will never forget - Let's never forget. We are so blessed to live in this country. God Blessed The USA!

I know I'm a day early but I couldn't wait - I've been thinking about this awhile.

Happy Birthday to GOO!

One year ago today I pushed out a whopping 9lb 13 ounce baby boy. That big boy is now lovingly referred to as Goo! Words cannot express the joy this little boy has brought into our home. He is as delightful as any person big or small could possibly be. Grandma Bonnie often says, "have you taught him to cry yet". Here's our big boys stats at ONE.

*Has two bottom teeth
*Can't officially "crawl" but can scoot like a walrus where ever he so desires
*Says Mama & DA DA DA
*holds his lips in an "O" shape often. It's the cutest little thang!
*Loves peas , cucumbers & tomatoes
*has slept through the night since he was 3 weeks old
*Weights in at a whopping 23.8 pounds - that puts him in the 70% for weight
* Head circumference is now 95% at birth it was off the chart and I can totally vouch for that.
*Loves people & people love him - what's not to LOVE!
* Gavin - just a name we loved and both agreed on
*Dean - middle name - after his Grandpa Ray - a wonderful namesake.
*Holyoak - his awesome last name meaning - Seeking for the Sacred

Gavin, thank you for blessing our family. I can already see that you will spread joy where ever you go. I love you son.
